A few tips to help you fit a tower gasket, taken from a page of an instruction book :Gaskets are manufactured slightly oversize,as they shrink in use. Rub a little vegetable oil around the gasket,for lubircation, then fit in to the lid rim, tucking it under the flanges in the rim, if it is new it may bulge between the flanges. In this case,after fitting the lid to the body of the pressure cooker press gently down on the lid as you close it. After a number of uses , the gasket will shrink to fit. We recommend replacing the gasket at least once a year. hope this helps ...Chris
